Osun Assembly Pledges Support For Contractors On Projects’ Execution

The State of Osun House of Assembly has promised to extend its support to contractors working on various projects in the state towards timely completion.

Chairman, House of Assembly committee on Works and Infrastructure Hon. Abiodun Awolola stated while speaking to Osun Defender after meeting with officials of the Ministry of Works and Transport at the State House of Assembly Complex Osogbo.

Awolola made it known that the purpose of inviting the ministry officials is to intervene and know the state of road constructions all over the state.

According to him, “We also want to know the quality of materials used for the road construction with the total estimate involve” he added.

However, the House committee on works embarked on oversight function to some capital projects in the state such as MKO Abiola International Airport Ido-Osun, Osogbo –Iwo road and some township roads that needed repairs.

He confirmed that some of these roads are almost done while stating that the monies spent on them are minimal.

According to him, “The money spent on these roads areminimal and the one at Ede has reached 70%, Ikire 60% while Iwo axis is almost completed”.

He said, “The Chinese contractor handling Osogbo – Iwo road will be available any time from now to commence work immediately”.
