State of Osun House of Assembly has charged the incoming Vice Chancellor of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, ProfessorMichael Olufisayo on revolutionising the institution to meet its set objectives.
This was disclosed by the Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Hon. Kamil Oyedele at the continuation of appearance of Ministries, Departments, Agencies and Institutions of Government for the defence of year 2019 proposed estimates before the parliament at the State Assembly Complex, Osogbo.
He described the former Vice- Chancellor, Professor Gbadegesin Adedeji as a performer in institution management and urged the incoming VC to emulate his predecessor.
He urged the management to turn their weaknesses to opportunity to move the institution forward and sustain its best state University of Technology status it is renowned for in Nigeria.
According to him, “I want to advise you to use your weakness as opportunity to lift the school to greater height and we need to sustain all what is binding us together”.
“I assure you that the House will give you all maximum support to succeed in that institution of learning”, he added.
The lawmakers in their separate contributions urged the management to always relate with education committee to achieve success.
They advised the managements to use their experience to lift the institution higher in learning and character.
Meanwhile, the House has ordered the ministry of education to forward the list of all private and public schools in the state to the Assembly for proper record.
The legislators also urged the Teachers’ Establishment and Pension Office to work faster on teachers pensions across the state to ease their pains.
However, some of the ministries and agencies that have appeared before the house includes the ministry of Education which defended the sum of N3,713,624,220.00 allotted to it, state Universal Basic Education Board N3,284,673,290.00, Osun State Library Board N32,321,660.00, Osun Mass Education Agency N46,631,470.00, Osun Central District Office N1,407,795,590.00,Osun East District Office N798,478,430.00, and Osun West District Office N1,678,063,050.00.
Also, Teachers Establishment &Pension Office appeared before the Assembly to defend the sum of N119,682,420, Board for Technical and Vocational Education N1,416,083,380, Office of Higher Education, Bursary and Scholarship N78,150,639, Osun Education Quality Assurance and Morality Enforcement Agency N260,008,530.
Others are LAUTECH Ogbomoso N5,354,889,340, Osun State College of Technology N1,864,953,360, Osun State Polytechnic N3,277,444,150, Osun State College of Education Ilesa N1,142,115,050, Osun State College of Education Ila-Orangun N1,144,813,500 and Osun State University N3,601,370,300.

In another development, the State lawmaker issued warning to the management of different local governments in the state over failure to comply with the state government on its policy on local government administration.
According to them,” we notice that there is no cooperation with new secretaries to the local government and the management of local government across the state that were just appointed by the governor”.
However, the House has warned all local government to cooperate with new secretaries in their respective councils to avoid clashes while noting that the office of the secretary has been rendered redundant.
They also directed the Local Government Service Commission to warn all the Council Managers who are not cooperating with the new secretaries.
It also directed office of transportation to control traffic activities at Owode market at Owode- Ede, Igbonna market at Osogbo and Alamisi and Monday market both at Ikirun.
