Osun Assembly To Screen Amotekun Chairman, Commander Days After Assuming Office

The Osun State House of Assembly on Monday, said it is ready to screen the Chairman and New Commander for the State Security Network Agency otherwise known as “Amotekun Corps” days after their appointment.

This was disclosed by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adewale Egbedun during plenary on Monday.

Osun Defender reports that Governor Ademola Adeleke on July 04 had appointed a retired Chief Superintendent of Police, Mr. Adekunle Omoyele, as the new Corps Commander for Osun Amotekun Corps.

The governor also appointed AIG Wale Abass (Rtd) as the Corps Board Chairman.

The medium also gathered that Omoyele had resumed work and met with the Amotekun operatives on Friday.

Egbedun during plenary explained that the governor sent a letter to the house to that effect.

Egbedun while reading the letter, urged the Assembly to fast-track every legislative matter on it.

The speaker directed the nominees to submit thirty-five copies of their credentials and other relevant documents and appear for screening on Tuesday.
