Osun ASUP Embarks On Two Weeks Warning Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, chapter has commenced two weeks warning Strike following a congress decision to press home their demands from State government.

OSUN DEFENDER gathered that the Union made declaration after members of the union unanimously agreed to embark on strike.

It would be recalled that the Union had earlier given Osun State Government under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola a 21-day and 7-day ultimatum respectively. Besides, the strike notice was also tarried for two weeks without any concrete efforts on the part of government to resolve the issues.

The Union demanded for the Implementation of Full Salary Table for Tertiary Institutions; 65 Years Retirement Age; the Year 2019, 2020 and 2021 Promotion Exercises.

It was gathered that the two weeks warning strike started from Monday, 14th March, 2022 after which the seriousness on the part of Government of Osun State will be re-evaluated.
