Osun Begins Distribution Of New Millenium Furniture To Schools

 

In its bid to ensure that Osun schools meets up with their contemporaries in Nigeria and beyond, the Government of the State of Osun has began massive distribution of newly procured set of furniture to all Middle schools in the State tagged “Governor Gboyega Millennium Furniture” through the State Universal Basic Education Board under the leadership of Alhaji Fatai Kolawole, the board’s Permanent Secretary.

The school to school distribution of the newly acquired set of Governor Gboyega Oyetola Millennium furniture started on Tuesday 27th of March, 2018 with L.A. Adenle Government Middle School, Ayetoro, Osogbo.

Top management of the Board led by Alhaji Kolawole, the board’s directors, officials of L.A Adenle Government Middle School and other stakeholders were on on-ground to witness the distribution of the newly acquired state of the art furniture.

Speaking with newsmen at the venue of the distribution exercise, the Osun SUBEB boss commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola for his resolve to continually ensure that Osun schools are well equipped with state of the art
infrastructure.

The SUBEB helmsman also restated government’s readiness to place premium on teachers welfare and trainings in capacity building to deliver optimally in their various fields.

Speaking on the Governor Gboyega Oyetola Millennium Furniture, Alhaji Kolawole said the exercise marked the take off of the first batch of about 4000 pairs out of projected figure of 20,000.

He told newsmen that these sets of furniture are being given to middle schools while government has also taken that of the elementary schools into consideration to complement the conducive learning environment that is abound in the state.

He said ” under the first phase, the 4000 pairs of furniture seater will comfortably sits 8000 students and free their former furnitures to be used by same numbers making 16000. In sum the 20000 under this cycle will be provide about 50000 students with multiplier effect on another 50000. It’s solidly designed to last longer and immured to pilfering to the iron rods thieves”, he concluded.

The SUBEB PS however commended facility managers attached to the model schools in the state for their interest in maintenance culture just as he charged school officials and other stakeholders including the pupils to make good use of the newly acquired millennium furniture.
