Osun BOSS DG Sues For Efficient Delivery Of Govt Projects

The Director General of the Bureau of Social Services BOSS, Office of the Governor, State of Osun, Mr Richard Tinubu has called on those handling government projects in every nook and cranny of the state to execute them in line with the vision of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s administration.

According to Tinubu, the government will not compromise on standards while urging all MDA’s to involve the bureau in its activities to ensure efficient delivery of their projects.

The BOSS DG stated this in a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy led by the Commissioner, Prince Raheem Tadese and the Special Adviser, Engr Adeniran Ibitoye.

He said BOSS will not relent to further deliver its mandate of supervising, monitoring and evaluation of projects to guarantee standards as well as report the performance of all commissioners, Special Advisers, heads of agencies and parastatals to the Governor where such are not complied with.

Corroborating him, Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy, Prince Raheem Tadese said the job of the Bureau is not to witch-hunt anybody but to guarantee efficiency in public service.

Tadese told the Bureau that the only major project being handled by the ministry is the Ilesa Water Project saying out the six components, two are almost ready for commissioning while some others are at various stages of completion.

While answering questions on the state of affairs, the GM, Osun State Water Corporation, Engr. Ademola Fatola highlighted some of the challenges facing the corporation to include shortage of staff and find which occassioned by their inability to retrieve debts was owed them by government agencies, the police command and members of the public.

He explained that the Ilesa water project is being jointly financed by the Federal Government and the Islamic Development Bank.

In their responses, the DG of BOSS, Mr Tinubu and the Senior Special Adviser to the governor on Project Monitoring And Evaluation, Engineer Anwo Kolawole suggested the need for the corporation to pragmatic in it’s drive to boost revenues to justify government’s financial commitment.
