Osun CJ: Reverse Your Decision Or We Meet In Court – SERAP Tells Adeleke

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), has vowed to drag the Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to court if he fails to reverse the removal of Justice Oyebola Adepele-Ojo as the Chief Judge of the state.

Osun Defender reports that Adeleke had last week Thursday approved the resolution of the Osun State House of Assembly, asking Justice Ojo to step aside pending the outcome of an investigation against her.

He subsequently appointed Justice Olayinka Afolabi as the acting Chief Judge but the swearing-in ceremony slated for last week Friday could not hold.

SERAP while threatening that it would sue the government if the removal was not reversed, demanded that the vicious cycle of authoritarian attacks on the rule of law must stop in Nigeria.

In a statement shared on its X account, SERAP wrote, “Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke must immediately reverse his apparently unlawful removal of Adepele Ojo as the Chief Judge of Osun state.

“This vicious cycle of authoritarian attacks on the rule of law must stop. We’ll see in court if this illegality is not reversed.”
