Osun College Calls For Permanent Employment Of 70 Contract Staff

THE Provost, Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, Dr. Lateef Olarewaju, has pleaded with Governor Ademola Adeleke to consider 70 contract staff of the college for permanent employment.

Olarewaju’s appeal came a week after Adeleke granted permanent employment to about 230 temporary staff of the University of Ilesa (UNILESA)

The provost made the appeal while fielding questions from journalists in his office.

He urged the Governor to extend his kind gesture to the workers by normalising their employment which was long overdue.

It would be recalled that Adeleke recently approved full employment to no fewer than 230 contract staff of the University of Ilesa, and all the freelance staff of the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC), Osogbo.

The provost also called on the federal government to enlist Monotechnics across the country among the institutions that can benefit from TetFund projects.

He noted that since the institutions like their counterparts in polytechnic education are offering courses equivalent to national and higher national diploma levels, they should be granted the right of space in the scheme.

The provost who identified funding as a major challenge of the institution, commended Governor Adeleke for his support for the college, just as he pleaded with illustrious sons and daughters of Ijesaland to come to the aid of the school.

He noted that despite the volatility of Ilesa, the institution has been able to curtail the activities of cultists on the school campus largely because it maintained discipline.
