Permanent Secretaries and public servants have been admonished to key into the on-going civil service reforms in the State of Osun as it is aimed at repositioning the service for greater productivity and efficiency.
Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola gave the charge at a send off luncheon organised for the retired Head of Service, Mr. Olayinka Owoeye and nine other retired Permanent Secretaries.
Speaking at the event which was facilitated by the State Forum of Head of Service and Permanent Secretaries, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola who congratulated the retirees for leaving with their integrity intact, described Permanent Secretaries as important anchors of government programmes, noting that, when they support any government, the success of such administration is guaranteed.
He then enjoined the retirees to see the service as their baby which they must endeavour to nurture from time to time, even outside the service.
Speaking at the event, the immediate past Head of Service, Mr. Olayinka Owoeye was full of gratitude to the State Governor for changing the chemistry of appointment to enable him and his colleagues
rise to the top in their civil service career.
Earlier in his speech, the State Head of Service, Dr. Olowogboyega Oyebade had earlier described the retirees as exemplifying the best in the service. He also congratulated his predecessor for taking the
service to an enviable height.
The celebrated retirees were: Mrs. Olajumoke Bello, Mr. Fatai Kolawole, Mr. Mudasiru Oyeniran, Mr. Ademola Akinyemi and Mr. Wale Ojo.
The rest honourees were: Mr. Kola Buhari, Mr. Segun Olorunsogo, Mrs Helen Osotimehin and Dr. Bunmi Obisesan.
Highlights of the programme which was spiced with cultural performance by the state cultural troupe was presentation of goodwill messages and gifts to all the retirees.
