Wives of council chairmen in the State of Osun have collectively reiterated commitment to continue to support their husbands and the state government towards the development of the grassroots across the state.
They gave this commitment recently through the Forum of Wives of Council Chairmen (FOWICC) in the state when they organised an interdenominational special prayer for Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s administration in one of their fortnightly prayer meetings at Olorunda Local Government Secretariat, Igbonna Osogbo.
As part of their own way of contributing to the success of the present administration, it has been the practice of the FOWICC to pray for their spouses, the council bosses, to have a successful and a hitch-free tenure of office.
The chairperson of the forum, Mrs. Tunrayo Abiodun appreciated almighty God for the opportunity given to them and their spouses as council bosses, just as she appreciated Governor Aregbesola whom she described as “A true Progressive” in whose pot of wisdom the state is witnessing a tremendous development, particularly at the grassroot.
She also appreciated the Governor’s wife, Mrs. Sherifat Aregbesola whom she described as “An Epitome of virtuous woman who is the crown of her husband” for the love and care showered on the forum since inception.
According to her, members of the forum are determined to support the council bosses in all aspects, with a view to ensuring that they succeed in line with their electioneering promises to the people.
Commending their husbands for their commitment towards development in line with the mandate given to them, Mrs Abiodun urged them to remain focus and leave legacies that would always be a reference point of development.
Meanwhile, in his sermon, the invited Muslim cleric, Alfa Ahmodu advised the organizers to always pray for their spouses as their prayer is much more needed now than ever before.
Also, Pastor Nelson Adeboye admonished the organisers to be more prayerful and stronger.
