The Deputy Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Akinyode Oyewusi has called on well-meaning individuals and stakeholders to in his constituency to contribute towards the rebirth of academic excellence by donating books and other educational materials needed for the excellent performances of students in the area.
Oyewusi who represents Ife North state constituency made the call at the unveiling and distribution of 15,000 copies of notebooks and writing materials for 7465 students of public primary and secondary schools held at St. Augustine RCM Nursery and Primary, Koso Ipetumodu.
The lawmaker who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant, Science and Technology to H.E. Sen. Ademola Adeleke, Hon Kunle Bello in his keynote address titled, ‘Rebirth of Academic Excellence: Your Roles and Mine’ stated that the future of Ife North state constituency is secured if education is given necessary attention.
The lawmaker applauded royal fathers, religious leaders, and other elder statesmen in Ife North LGA for their cooperation and trust in him.
He charged the students to make good use of the notebooks and writing materials given to them and see a glorious future ahead of them with discipline.
His statement reads, “I welcome you all to the official distribution of 15,000 notebooks and writing materials to 7465 students of public primary and secondary school in Ife North Local government.
“I have in the first 100 Days paid careful attention to the education sector in Ife North. This I believe is to help us all in the rebirth of academic excellence in Ife North State Constituency.
“Everyone of us has a role to play in the rebirth of academic excellence. Our future is secured with education(both formal and informal.)
“I have always said that educating a child means educating a generation. As a legislator, I will do my best to improve the state of education in Ife North Local Government.
“I call on well-meaning individuals in Ife North to support this move and ensure that the best is given to our students. In plain terms, they are the FUTURE.
“As I concluded this, I urge all the students to make good use of the notebooks and writing materials given to them.
“I will continue to do my best for my people, particularly in the proper education of the young ones.”
