Osun Digital Radio Launched, To Drive Culture Through Entertainment

An online media outfit, Osun Digital Radio has commenced operations in Osogbo, capital of the State of Osun.
The media outfit which seeks to drive culture through entertainment will also project the state of the virtuous to the outside world.
Speaking during the launch, the Chief Executive Officer, Osun Digital Radio, Oyekan-Nash Oluwaseun explained that the initiative of the digital radio is to optimize technology in providing appreciable content to its audience.
He added that “The medium would showcase the finest from the state connecting people from within and outside Osun as well as those in the diaspora. Osun Digital Radio is here to bring a standard to the way broadcast media works in the state. We have content around culture, lifestyle, redefining the way of life of the people, showcasing the entrepreneurial potentials of the state, the Political Angle, Security content, Sports among others.”
On sustaining the media with the competitive nature of the space in Osun, the Osun Digital Radio boss maintained that the outfit’s core values of professionalism nurtured by due diligence
Oluwaseun who is a Digital Radio Expert stressed that “The adaptation to the digital end of broadcast media is not that much. The COVID-19 pandemic has however shown how that space has been harnessed. When we did not have the opportunity to go to Mosque and Church, everybody came online and saw why the digital space cannot be underestimated.”
“We began test transmission in the last two months. So far, we had over 2,000 followers who connected with us and listened to our content within and outside the state. The reason behind that is the fact that digital broadcasting has provided an opportunity for all of us to get information in a non-regimented space.”
“The platform, Osun Digital has been on for a while as a blog while the idea for the Radio was in incubation even before COVID-19. The pandemic I would say fast-tracked the process.”
In an interview with OSUN DEFENDER, Aremo Oloyede Oyelade, the Group Managing Director, Osun Digital Radio is a Youth-oriented radio station with focus on the elites and the mass of the citizenry.
“As you know the world is going digital, we wanted to optimize the opportunity and also bring something creative and entertaining to our people in Osun. We are taking advantage of this opportunity to bring digital media close to the doorsteps of our people.”
“Our content will actually make people key into our station. We want to do things differently. We have good programmes that would reach out to the people even without advert. It combines News, Sports, Entertainment and the societal trends.”
