Osun Distributes Instructional Materials Worth N200m To Schools

The State Government of Osun has distributed about N200 million worth of instructional materials to public schools in the state for the 2017/2018 academic session.

 

Speaking at the flag off of the distribution exercise, the state Deputy Governor Titi Laoye-Tomori said Government will continue to prioritize education in the state by ensuring functional and qualitative education for all school children.

 

She solicited the continuous support of every stakeholder in the sector towards achieving a qualitative education in the state.

 

The instructional materials according to the permanent Secretary, State universal basic education board, Fatai Kolawole were procured to aid teaching and learning process in schools across the state.

 

Kolawole explained that provision of school infrastructure without instructional materials for both pupils and teacher will amount to nothing, hence the action of government.

 

Earlier in his remarks, the state chairman of SUBEB Felix Awofisayo Harped on the need for the materials to be well utilized and properly managed.

 

Stakeholders at the event commended the Aregbesola’s led administration for its efforts at improving the state education standard.

 

Among the distributed instructional materials were computer sets, Science Equipments, Sport Equipments, motorcycles for school monitoring, Teachers manuals and Educational charts.
