Osun Election: PDP Chieftain Arrested For Buying PVCs
The police acted on intelligence from members of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) to effect the arrest. Mr. Diekola is currently helping the police in its investigations.
There have been reports of potential voters being pressured to submit their voters cards to politicians in exchange for money since INEC announced the gubernatorial election that held last Saturday was inconclusive and ordered the re-run of elections in seven polling units in Ife, Orolu and Osogbo local government areas.
The Spokesperson of the All Progressives Progress in Osun, Kunle Oyatomi, has asked all voters in the seven affected polling units to vote for the candidate of his party, Gboyega Oyetola, and reject the huge inducement of funds being offered by the PDP.
“The emancipation and prosperity of our people cannot be purchased with all the rubies in the world. Our people know the party that has improved their lives in eight short years and delievered unparalleled human capital development. We are fully certain of victory in the rerun polls,” he said.
He added that party members and wellwishers have already begun congratulating each other as the supplementary elections are in “APC-strongholds.”
