The former House of Assembly member representing Ayedire State consistency at the Osun House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Ogunkanmi has empowered women, children, youths, and elders of his constituency.
The former Deputy Chief Whip in the Osun 7th Assembly gave out hair dryers, sewing machines, grinding machines, clippers, sprayers, and other items to indigenes and residents of Ayedire council area.
The empowerment programme held after the lawmaker reputed for beaming smiles on his people, left office.
Recall that during his tenure of office, Hon. Ogunkanmi impacted positively in the lives of his people, embarking on several support and empowerment programmes for his people, despite not taking a dime for constituency projects as a state lawmaker.
While speaking with newsmen in his hometown IleOgbo, the former banker said the empowerment programme was to appreciate his constituents and render support for their economic advancement as the hardship occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy bites harder.
He also added that he has been supporting his people before, during office, and promised to continue the support even after the office.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Akanni Odunayo said, “It’s indeed always good to show love to your people because even the bible says your gift will make a way for you. Ogunkanmi’s light can never be dimmed by mischief makers because his good deeds always speak for him.
“Our Honourable has shown leadership in all ramifications since he got into office even after he left office he still doing his best to assist many people in Ayedire God will continue to be with him.”
