Osun Forms Community Informants Against Monkeypox
OSUN State Government has issued a red alert on the outbreak of Monkeypox.
The warning is coming after some states confirmed cases of Monkeypox.
According to a message on the official X handle of Osun State Government, residents of the state were urged to stay alert.
It also outlined things to know about the dreaded viral disease.
The message reads, “Osun State Government issues red alert against Outbreak of MONKEYPOX (M-Pox).

“Things you need to know: Symptoms and causative agents of the disease.
“Awareness and Sensitization, Prevention and Treatment.
“Stay alert! Stay safe!!”
Speaking with OSUN DEFENDER in a telephone interview on Wednesday, the state Commissioner for Health, Barrister Jola Akintola said the state government has started an awareness campaign to prevent an outbreak of the disease.
Akintola highlighted other measures which include the formation of Community informants which comprises ten individuals per ward.
