The Federal Road Safety Corps, State of Osun Sector Command, has embarked on operation ‘Number Plate Violation’ across the state.
The operation is to clamp down on motorists with no numbers plate.
Speaking with newsmen in Osogbo, the state capital, the Sector Commander, Paul Okpe, lamented the rate at which motorists, most especially car dealers drove around with no number plate is alarming, hence, the reason for the operation.
Okpe advised motorists to get their number plate from the appropriate licensing office before driving on roads in any part of the state to avoid embarrassment.
He said: “The sector has started clamping down on motorists without numbers plate and I want to advise motorists to get their number plates from the appropriate licensing office before driving on Osun state roads.
“The rate at which motorist, especially car dealers driving unnumbered vehicles round the city is alarming and has to be stopped.
“To avoid any embarrassment, I want to appeal to motorists to do the right thing by getting their plate numbers”.
