Osun Gets $20.5m WHO Grant For High Performance In Health Programme

Governor of the State of Osun, Gboyega Oyetola on Tuesday received on behalf of the State of Osun the Chequeof $20.5 million global fund for coming second in the implementation ofv Basic Health Care Provision Fund at the Presidential Launch of the Second National Strategic Health Development Plan in Abuja.

The event was also an opportunity to roll out the implementation of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund under the saving One Million Lives Programme Results (SOML).

The State of Osun was selected in 2018 as the second best in the implementation of the aims and objectives embedded in the SOML plan.

Govenor Oyetola had in December inaugurated a six man steering committee which he chairs to revitalize and upgrade the 332 Primary Health Care Centers in the state within his first 100 days in office.

According to the Govenor, the committee is to help governments resolve to maintain its sterling performance while restating his administration’s commitment to the adequate utilization of the funds.

At the event were the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udo Udoma, Governors Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti among other leading states in the Programme.
