The state government of Osun has cautioned residents of the state not to allow unscrupulous elements to disrupt the peace of the state.
The government through the Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation in a statement urged residents not to allow the elements hide under the guise of the on-going registration of commercial motorcyclists in the state to perpetrate violence.
The government of the State of Osun once again implores the people of the State to avoid allowing unscrupulous violent elements to take advantage of them to disrupt our peace and set the State ablaze.
The government implored well-meaning citizens and residents of the State of Osun to assist it in resisting the “violent advances” of the individuals so as not to jeopardise the peace of the state.
The statement said “Our lives are gradually returning to norma after the recent destructive disruption, but some people are determined to bring more trouble to the State by inciting some citizens, especially okada riders, against the government.
“The State Government has commenced the profiling and registration of Commercial Motorcyclist in the State, but those who have been using them for criminal activities feel threatened by the registration.
“The government is imploring all well-meaning citizens to rise up and join the government in protecting the State, by resisting these unscrupulous elements and their advances.
“We are calling on parents and guardians to caution their children and wards not to allow themselves to be used for violence.
“Let us remember that we have no other State, and we should not allow mercenaries destroy our peace and collective heritage.”
