The State Government of Osun and the State Police Command are beefing up security to ensure that the three members of the Methodist Church Nigeria in Osun kidnapped by some suspected hoodlums on Sunday regain freedom very soon.
In a post on his Facebook and Twitter handles @raufaregbesola, the Governor said “I have just been briefed about the kidnap of Reverend Kayode Akande and 2 others. The state government is working very closely with security operatives to ensure the safe and speedy return of the victims.”
“Osun is a peaceful state and acts such as this would be met with the greatest form of resistance. Please be rest assured that security remains the topmost priority of the state government.”

Also, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, DCP Abu Ishyak who spoke on a RAVE FM Programme said the incident which happened around 7.10pm on Sunday has been taken up by his men.
“I have been given information that the 3 men who were coming back from a meeting in a convoy of two vehicles have been kidnapped. We have dispatched our men across the state to see to the matter. We will work hand-in-hand to ensure they are rescued.”
