Osun State Government has mourned the death of Mr. Dele Olawuni, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports and Special Needs.
In a statement signed by Mr. Ayanleye Aina, Head of Service sighted by Osun Defender on Friday, the Government described the exit of Mr. Olawuni as devastating, considering the depth of his service to the state, stating that death has denied Osun the service of one of its brightest and committed civil servants.
“It is with a heavy heart that the Osun State Government receives the news of the passing of the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports and Special Needs, Mr. Dele Olawuni,” the condolence message reads in part.
He added, “Mr. Olawuni was a dedicated civil servant and his absence will be a heavy burden for us as a Government but we will be consoled by the legacy of his impact and the everlasting honour that comes from his contributions to the state.
“We pray for the repose of his soul and hope that loved ones left behind, particularly his immediate family, have the fortitude to bear this painful and irreparable loss.”
