The State Government of Osun has named the newly built Lakeside Staff Canteen at the State Secretariat after the former Permanent Secretary at the Bureau of General Services, Office of the Governor, Mrs Olufunke Oluwakemi Kolawole.
Olufunke had been slain by some suspected kidnappers on her way to Abuja on July 13, 2017.
In a statement issued at the end of the state executive council weekly meeting and signed by the Media Adviser to the Governor, Mr Sola Fasure, the State Government stated that the decision was in recognition of the deceased hard work, dedication to duty and in honor of her memory.
The council also approved the appointment of Prince Oyebamiji Tajudeen Oladepo as the Ologuro of Oguro in Ejigbo West Local Council Development Area.
Prince Oladepo had emerged victorious after a keen contest for the stool involving 12 princes. Council congratulated him and wished him a peaceful and successful reign.
Meanwhile, council urged owners of properties on streets designated as Governor’s Route and major roads who have not totally complied with the directives of beautifying their houses to do so as soon as possible to avoid sanctions.
“Council received report that the owners of properties on streets designated as Governor’s Route and major roads have not totally complied with the directives that they should beautify their environment and, in particular, to paint the buildings.
“Council frowned at this development and urged those affected to comply forthwith, failing which they stand the risk of sanctions which might include having their premises sealed off and payment of hefty fines.” the release added.
