Government of Osun under Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has received accolades for investing in infrastructure development and creating rooms for provision of services and products which place the state on the same pedestal with Urban economy.
This were the assertions of Osun indigenes living outside the state and travelled back home for Eid-il-Kabir celebration, in different chats with OSUN DEFENDER in Osogbo.
Mallam Quadr Adediran, an Osun indigene living in Republic of Benin said he visited the state about five years ago and lauded the new look of Osun, particularly Osogbo in the area of infrastructure development, especially the construction of roads within the metropolis.
He also noted that the building of state-of-art schools, opening of new roads as well as cleanliness of cities across the state are all commendable.
Mr Jamal Aderibigbe, an Osun indigene living in Plateau state commended the social infrastructure provided by the government, especially at the Freedom Park in Osogbo and advocated that similar feat be provided in major cities of the state, to encourage tourists.
According to him, the development has facilitated growth in the economy of the state, which had led to increase in number of modern houses and placed more value on landed properties.
In his own observation, Miss Aderoju Emiola an undergraduate who lives in Abuja lauded the job creation opportunities in the state and urged youths to take the opportunities that abound to make a living.
In all, they all affirmed that the economy of the state is developing but the government should concentrate more on social welfare of the people and make rural development its priority, via road construction, functional health care delivery, promotion of small scale enterprises and development of raw material to fast track its industrial development so as to create job for its teeming youth and enhance rural development.
They contended that though the government has done well in virtually all areas of economy, but there is need to have a government in next dispensation that would build on the current development.
