Osun State Government has honoured an indigene of Igbajo in Boluwaduro local government area of the State, Emmanuel Ogundepo, who has the highest score in the just concluded Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) in the State.
The honour came after Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, wife of the President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, honoured and decorated Ogundepo, who is now a 100-level student of University of Ibadan.
Ogundeji will be accessible to a sum of N1m every year under the Renewed Hope Initiative Scheme of Tinubu led administration to enable him to continue to toe the line of excellence in his academic pursuit.
Celebrating Ogundepo at a reception held at the Governor’s Office in Abere on August 31, 2023, the Deputy Governor of the State, Prince Kola Adewusi, promised the state government’s support for his education career.

Adewusi, who represented Governor Ademola Adeleke, lauded Ogundepo’s feat, describing it as a pride to the state.
He warned Ogundepo against complacency and social vices, noting that he has a brighter future to live.
“As you enter higher institution, you will mix with different characters, do not allow them to change who you are, but change them for better”, said Adewusi.
Mrs. Titilola Adeleke, wife of the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, who was part of the event thanked the awardee for making her country home, Igbajo and the state at large proud.
Mrs Adeleke promised to work on the template created by the Federal Government to create enabling environment for Ogundepo to excel during his Master’s Degree programme.
Ogundepo’s mother, Mrs. Elizabeth said his son is the most cultured student, who served the school as labour prefect, and was always ahead in virtually all subjects, according to his teacher.
She said she was not surprised that her son scored 309 in the JAMB overall result which prompted him to become the chosen candidate from Osun state.
