The Osun State Government has warned those engaging in illegal acquisition of its properties of dire consequences if they failed to disclose and hand over such assets.
The Special Adviser on Assets Management to the governor, Hon Fausat Sarumi-Adebanjo, gave the warning in Osogbo while speaking with newsmen, on Wednesday.
Sarumi-Adebanjo said it is appalling and reprehensible for people to build on lands that the government had acquired for developmental purposes, saying such lands, whether already used or about to be used, will be recovered without delay.
She expressed displeasure that such erring trespassers had encroached on government land across the state.
The Special Adviser added that land grabbers had illegally built, sold, or claimed lands that had been acquired or allocated to schools, markets, hospitals, broadcasting stations, and other public utilities with reckless abandon.
Of particular reference, she said is the illegal acquisition of government land meant for the Osun State Trade Fair Complex in Ofatedo\Ido-Osun axis where she noted that over 300 houses have been built.
She advised those in default to visit the Osun State Assets Management Agency, Abere to make a disclosure before the agency carries out its intention and plan of discovery, recovery by means stated in the law that established the agency.
The Special Adviser said the land and others across the state will be recovered without delay.
