Osun Grand Rally – APC Finally Closes The Deal!
By Solomon Odeniyi
On Tuesday, September 18, 2018, the APC brought in the big guns in persons of President Muhammad Buhari, Comrade Adam Oshiomhole, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, APC state governors and other chieftains to the State of Osun capital for a final push of a campaign that has largely gone their way. With an imploding PDP, marooned with a lackluster candidate who is hobbled by the certificate saga as well as a fragmented increasingly disoriented opposition, with babbling candidates, barring an unprecedented systemic shift, the APC is on course for victory on Saturday.
In a brilliant strategic move, outgoing government of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola brought in the state’s acclaimed Social Intervention programmes – OYES, O’Meal, O’Reap, O’Ramp, Agba-Osun etc, as a mobilising tool. These government’s achievements were highlighted thereby emphasising the need for continuity.
The intervention programmes have had a profound effect on the social economy as well as reducing the poverty levels of the state. Emphasising the beneficial impacts of the programmes puts candidate of opposing parties who have not presented a coherent alternative position in a pickle.
The visit of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has given the APC a significant trajectory towards coasting home to victory on Saturday.
The President reiterated most of the achievements of the administration of Ogbeni Adesoji Aregbesola and therefore appealed to Osun people to vote massively for the APC candidate, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola for the continuation of these developmental strides.
President Buhari addressing the gathering promised the people of the state that all the Federal Government projects in the State will be completed with APC in government.
He urged the electorate to cast their votes for the APC candidate, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola and Benedict Adegboyega on Saturday, saying, “We assured you that we will complete construction of Ojutu Bridge at Ilobu, construction of Oke-Ila to Ekiti State boundary road and construction of Housing Estate in the State”.
“We are here to celebrate victory of our candidate in next Saturday election” he added.
Tinubu, Aregbesola and other speakers at the rally said the present APC government in the state has performed creditably well and voting APC again on Saturday would ensure the consolidation of the ongoing development in the state.
