The Iyaloja-General of the state of Osun, Alhaja Awawu Asindemade has affirmed that the just-concluded gubernatorial election in the state reflected the wishes of the people to ensure continuity of development, peace and progress being experienced under Governor Rauf Aregbesola administartion.
In a chat with Osun Defender in Osogbo, the state capital, Alhaja Asindemade said the outcome of the gubernatorial re-run in the state expressed the true wishes of citizens of the state, as the people could not afford to go back to the era of impunity, recklessness and retrogressive period of Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
“The generality of the market women and men across the state will ever be grateful to APC as a party as it as revolutionized our set up, we are well inform in all aspects of governance, we participate in decision making, monitor government programmes and given sense of belonging”.
Reacting to a comment made by one of her members, Alhaji Raliatu of Adenle market in Osogbo that Senator Demola Adeleke won the election, she said Raliatu, is not the leader of the market women in Adenle Market but Madam Rachel Oparanti, saying, apart from the fact that her assertion was baseless, she does not have the capacity to speak on behalf of the association.
Asindemade said the assertion was a reflection of an attempt by the Peoples Democratic Party to destabilise the association.
According to her, prior to the election, the PDP leaders have gone round the state to ordained their own Iyalojas to cause chaos and trouble in the association.
Congratulating the governor-elect, the Iyaloja-General urged him to continue with the giant stride of Ogbeni Aregbesola in people’s welfare, prompt payment of workers’ salaries and arrears, as well as infrastructure development across the state.
