THE All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State of Osun, yesterday, declared that it had concluded plans to drag the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Governor-elect, Sen. Ademola Adeleke before Election Petition Tribunal.
State Chairman of the party, Prince Gboyega Famodun, made the disclosure at a press conference, held at the party Secretariat, Osogbo.
Famodun said the party’s lawyers who were inspecting election materials used for the July 16 election have told the party that it has good case.
He said: “We are going to the Tribunal and our lawyers have let us know that we have good case and we believe we will win at the court”.
INEC had declared Adeleke as winer of the election after polling 403, 371 votes to defeat the incumbent governor, Adeboyega Oyetola, who recorded 375,027 votes.
Famodun who told the party members to remain calm said there was no cause for alarm, saying the party is going to reclaim its mandate through legal means.
According to Famodun, the party and Oyetola’s legal counsels have told them they have a very good case at the tribunal, expressing optimism that the will of the people on the election shall prevail.
