Teachers in the State of Osun have been admonished to put in their best for improved performance of students in order to justify Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s huge investment on education.
The State Head of Service, Dr. Olowogboyega Oyebade gave the admonition on Tuesday while addressing principals, teachers and students of Ayanbeku Memorial High School, Ifetedo and Olode High School, Olode after his English Language teaching sessions with students in both schools.
Dr Oyebade explained that the on-going education drive in the state is not to slight teachers but rather to join Ogbeni Aregbesola’s train in turning the education fortune of the state.
He challenged them to make number one position their target in the next round of external examinations of both WAEC and NECO.
While pointing out that there are some rules guiding examinations which majority of teachers are not acquainted with, Dr Oyebade counseled the principals to share the marking schemes with all teachers so that they can be familiar with what the examiners want.
He further advised the students to be well behaved, focused and avoid looking for examination leakage.
In his appreciation, the Principal of Olode High School II, Mr Emmanuel Oyeyinka described the action of the Head of Service as a leading example for teachers and an encouragement to students.
Those on the entourage include the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Human Resources and Capacity Building, Mr Leye Aina, the tutor general and Permanent Secretary for Osun Central Education District, Mr Tunbosun Obisesan, the Coordinating Director, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mrs Femi Webster-Esho and the Director, Public Service Office, Mr Akintola.
