Members of the Inter Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Osun state chapter have suspended the council’s Deputy Chairman, Engr. Femi Adesuyi.
Adesuyi, who is the chairman of Zenith Labour Party in the state was suspended for allegedly diverting rice palliative sent to IPAC by the state government.
It was gathered that Adesuyi represented IPAC in the committee set up by Osun state government saddled with the responsibility of even distribution of rice palliative and funds from the federal government.
But findings revealed that out of the 50 bags of rice sent to IPAC through Adesuyi, he allegedly delivered 35 bags and diverted the remaining 15 for his personal use.
Having suspected fowl play, IPAC, it was learnt, set up a committee led by Hon. Victor Akande of Accord Party to investigate Adesuyi.
After meetings with Dr. Bashir Salami, the Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties and Evangelist Akinwumi Odejobi who is the Special Adviser in the ministry, findings revealed that the government handed over 50 bags of rice to Adesuyi for IPAC.
Reacting to the development, the Chairman and Secretary of Osun IPAC, Comrade Wale Adebayo and Dr. Tosin Odeyemi said Adesuyi’s actions not only undermined the integrity and purpose of IPAC but also raised concerns regarding his ethical conduct.
They revealed that it was unanimously agreed among the members present during their last meeting that Engr. Femi Adesuyi should face a suspension from IPAC for a period of six months.
“This decision aims to uphold the principles of accountability and transparency within our noble council, ensuring that no member is above the laws and regulations set forth by IPAC.
“In light of this resolution, we will be writing to IPAC National, providing them with a comprehensive explanation regarding the suspension of Engr. Femi Adesuyi. Additionally, we will copy his political party at the national level, INEC, the Nigerian Police Force, DSS, and OSSIEC, in order to ensure that all relevant parties are aware of this action taken by IPAC.
