Osun Launches Ambulance Point In Iree
Government of the State of Osun has reiterated its commitment to boost healthcare delivery system across the state.
The Governor represented by the Supervisor for Health in the state, Dr Rafiu Isamotu made this known at the flag off ceremony of Iree Township Ambulance Point, held at the Hospital Management Board, Comprehensive Health Center, Iree.
He emphasised that the government will not relent in its effort to ensure that necessary personnel and medical equipments are made available in its provision of good health care delivery system in all health facilities in the state, no matter how interior the community might be located.
The governor also announced the plans to bring back to life, medical structures that need to be resuscitated across the state, thereby making it a good legacy for the government and for future reference.
He solicited the support of the community in ensuring the protection of paramedics and ambulance given to the community in the line of duty, as he promised dividends of democracy to all towards next level.
The General Manager, Osun Ambulance Services Agency, Dr Olusegun Babatunde, earlier in his welcome address stated that the provision of Ambulance for Iree community, arose due to the densely population of students in the community, and it is targeted to bring reduction to casualty rate in the state.
He stated that with the advent of Osun Ambulance Services, neglect of accident victim had been brought to the barest minimum with the quick response of rescue of victims by O’Ambulance medical emergency and referral from the point of contact to the primary or secondary place of medical treatment.
Stakeholders at the Flag-Off ceremony included the Aree-in-council led by the Regent of the town, Chief Jimoh Salami, the management of Osun State Polytechnic led by the Rector, Dr Olusola Agboola, the Senior Medical Officer of Hospital Management Board Comprehensive Health Center of the government, the Iree Progressive Association, the Babaloja and Iyaloja of the community, the Chairman of  motor transporters and Okada riders associations of the town,  as well as the Student Union Government of Osun State Polytechnic led by its President, Bolaji Olaniyi Hope, among others.
