The Deputy Chief Whip, Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Ogunkanmi has commended Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for approving the reconstruction of 22 roads across the state.
Ogunkanmi said the reconstruction of the 22 roads will facilitate the rapid economic development of the state.
The lawmaker representing Ayedire state constituency in the state parliament gave the commendation while speaking to journalists in office on Tuesday.
It would be recalled that Hon. Ogunkanmi, had during the 2020 Ile-Ogbo Day promised that Governor Oyetola will reconstruct the road.
Hon. Ogunkanmi who expressed his joy that his desire is now a reality over the selection of Ile-Ogbo/Gbegan, road, said it will be a spring board of economic growth in two towns adding that the road is one of the important roads in Ayedire state constituency which needed urgent attention.
According to him “The road is overdue for reconstruction and it has created lots of hazard to the economic advancement of the towns because of its importance.
“I commend the Governor on the step because many lives have been lost as a result of the bad road,’’ he said.
“As a lawmaker, I will continue to play my role to sponsor and promote bills to foster the development of our constituency and our dear state as we work toward ensuring that the wave of development continues unabated in our state.
The Deputy Chief Whip of the Osun House of Assembly however urged Osun residents to continue to support the government led by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola as it is working hard to ensure that the people of the state enjoy the dividends of democracy.
He urged the state government to put machineries in place for the quick execution of the project.
