Kunle Akande, the lawmaker representing Olorunda State Constituency in the Osun House of Assembly, has expressed confidence that all the masses oriented programmes of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state and across the country, will see the party through to victory in the 2023 general elections.
He also assured that he will fulfill all his promises to the people, and continue with it when elected to provide the people in his constituency with the dividends of democracy.
Akande, who is the Deputy Majority Leader of the Assembly made this known on Thursday, as he donated items as part of his efforts to contribute his quota to the development of his people.
In a chat with newsmen at Ota-Efun, Akande stated that he was carrying out the distribution as part of his civic engagement to his community.
He also stated that he was giving out the sum of N2 million to empower 20 people as part of his second empowerment programme for the people within his community.
“I discovered that a lot of people don’t need too much fixed capital to be able to set up their own businesses. I have done it in the past. I give a weekly sum to petty traders and road side hawkers and I know how meaningful the impact of that money is to the people.
“I decided to expand the scope after the successes I recorded twice so that more people can benefit and start a means of generating for themselves.”
Akande also revealed that youths were not left out and most of the participants were women because they are the source of living for their children in their respective homes.
“I have given scholarships, sink boreholes, rehabilitate roads, empower widows, care for the handicapped children.”
