THE lawmaker representing Obokun State Constituency at the State of Osun House of Assembly, Hon. Adewunmi Adeyemi has lamented the poor state of a Comprehensive Healthcare centre in Obokun, headquarters of Ibokun Local Government Council of the state.
Adeyemi, in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday, said the health centre is a ghost of itself and could not provide the needed services.
“During the budget presentation of the Ministry of Health, I asked the Commissioner about the sorry state of the Comprehensive Health Centre in Ibokun.
“This Health Centre is a ghost of itself that could have provided good health care for my constituents and beyond because of the facility therein. But unfortunately, the facility lacks the personnel to man it.
“During my visit to the premises of the hospital, apart from being very bushy, there are no doctors and adequate health professionals available for the smooth running of the hospital. This has made patients seek medical attention uncomfortably from neighbouring cities. This includes pregnant women that will need to have their babies delivered.
