Osun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Adeleke Adebayo popularly called Banik has charged the traditional rulers to mobilise support for Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s administration to enhance the ongoing development.
He gave the charge during a chat with journalists on Sunday, saying the government need the support of traditional rulers in mobilising their subjects to play their roles as citizens through payment of taxes and dues and such other civic responsibilities.
According to him, Governor Oyetola has shown commitment to the development of the state through series of developmental projects, programmes and policies, saying these are the expectations of the people.
He said, the development of both the rural and urban areas that the administration has been embarking on are second to none, particularly in infrastructure, security, education, healthcare, among others.
The commissioner said for the administration to fully actualize its developmental agenda, in line with its campaign promises, all stakeholder must be ready to play their roles.
He added: “The administration of Governor Oyetola has shown signs of commitments to the development of Osun, and this is quite encouraging.
“The development are quite enormous, both at the rural and urban centers and these are evident in the renovation and equipping of 332 primary health centers in all the wards, construction of roads and other infrastructure and several other development around us.
“All these have been achieved with the meagre resources available to the government from all revenue sources.
“The trend has now shown that the administration still has a lot in the pipeline and they can only be achieved through support from the people”, Adeleke stressed.
He, however, reiterated the commitment of the government to further raise the bar of governance at the grassroots level and make lives more meaningful to the people.
