THE candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the July 16 governorship election in the State of Osun, Arch. Goke Omigbodun, has described tomorrow’s local government election as a bid to waste the meager resources of the hapless people of the state.
Omigbodun stated this on Wednesday in an interview with OSUN DEFENDER.
He stated that he does not see anything positive coming out of the election, noting that the resources of the state that could have been used for better governance would be lavished on the election.
Omigbodun said: “The local government election is a foolish bid to waste the meager resources of the hapless people of the state. I do not see anything positive coming out of it.
“At the end of the day, the resources of Osun State that could have been used for better governance would be poured into that. The fund put into the election is a huge amount of money.
“What happened to the Airport in Ido-Osun? With N5bn, I will build the Airport. The over N1bn they’re putting into the election will be used to build offices at the airport and use the remaining N4bn to build the runway.
“We have wasted the resources of Osun so far and the people of Osun should ask questions from the government about how their resources are being spent”.
Omigbodun’s party, SDP, is among the 16 political parties said to be participating in the election.
Only the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Action Peoples Party (APP) have threatened to boycott the election.
