A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Dr Thomas Ogungbangbe, as urged the party members not to fall for the antics of the state Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) to frustrate the efforts of the party in the forthcoming Local Government elections.

Ogungbangbe said the party would record a victorious outing in the local government poll scheduled to hold on 22, 2025.

Ogungbangbe, in a statement made available to Osun Defender, urged members of the party not entertain fear but to approach the poll as a united front.

He noted that the disclosure by OSSIEC that APC and two other political parties did not properly nominate candidates for the chairmanship posts in about 7 local government areas, should not deter but strengthen party members.

He also advised the ruling Peoples Democratic Party not to rejoice yet, adding that the APC’s popularity has been on the rise in the state since the advent of the current administration.

He added that the APC is also preparing to reclaim the power it lost to PDP in the 2022 governorship polls.

“My party, the APC is not growing weary. Whatever OSSIEC is saying, our party will take it up but looking at the growing level of acceptance of APC in Osun, we are going to take majority of the local government areas. We are going to recover landslide victory.

“Party members should not grow weary. We need to start preparing for the poll very early and come up with right strategies to complement our wide acceptance,” he said.

Commenting on the current economic challenges ravaging the country, Ogungbangbe urged Nigerians to presevere and continue to believe in the capacity of President Bola Tinubu to lead Nigeria to prosperity in no distance time.
