Osun LG Election: Nothing Should Distract Us From Victory – APC Chairman

By Toba Ajisafe

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State of Osun, Prince Adegboyega Famodun has called on party members across the state to remain focused and not be distracted, particularly now that election into local government is building up.

According to a statement issued by the party’s Director of Publicity and Strategy, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, Famodun said: “’Nothing should distract us from that goal on the up-coming local government election.”

Famodun said that the next LG poll in the state would be parliamentary, and not presidential system.

He said, “Every interested aspirants would be elected as councillors into the councils and from amongst themselves, they would then choose the chairman.

He further stated that, “this model of local government administration is the climax of the on-going reform embarked upon by the government to reposition local government administration for optimal performance’.

“The most important focus of the party right now is the local government election which has been scheduled for January, next year.

“I therefore instructed all party members interested in contesting the election to concentrate their efforts on making the APC win comprehensively.

He also urged all those who have ambition to lead the councils in the state to first concentrate their efforts on, and mobilise to winning their localities for the party.

“It’s when this comprehensive victory has been achieved that we can fully turn our attention to the governorship election, which has been scheduled for September next year,” he added.
