The Secretary to the Government of the State of Osun and a frontline member of the ruling party in the state, Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti, has advised voters ahead of the council poll in the state on the need to adhere to all electoral laws.
He gave this advice in a statement issued and personally signed by him ahead of the Saturday council polls.
According to him, residents and indigenes of the state who are of voting-age and have registered should make it a point of duty to ensure a peaceful exercise.
“I want to personally appeal to the voting population in the State of Osun on the need to comport themselves and ensure that the whole electoral process holds without rancour”, he stated.
He further stressed that the Saturday council polls should not be seen as a do-or-die affair as nothing productive can ever be achieved in a violent setting.
“I therefore want to advise the residents of the state to continue to imbibe the Omoluabi ethos for which we are known for in the state with a view to sustaining the current peace being witnessed in the state.
“The council poll should be held in an atmosphere devoid of rancour,” Alhaji Adeoti prayed.
While also charging all the candidates of various political parties participating in polls to call all their supporters to order, the APC leader in the state prayed for a peaceful conduct of the council poll.
“As a political leader, I cannot but pray that the council poll be violence-free for our state to continue to move on in the current path of developmental strides of the current administration in the state’, he said.
