Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Osun chapter, Alhaji Adebisi Popoola, has urged Nigeria to re-examine its socio-economic and political indices with a view to addressing the urgent needs of the people as a nation.
This was said in a message to mark the 58th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence, which was made available to the press through NIPR Osun State chapter Public Relations Executive, Kikelomo Owoeye.
In his address, titled “Nigeria’s 58th independence: A coat of many colours”, the chairman feted with Nigerians, imploring them to reflect on unity as a Nation and try to improve upon the way things are done.
This, he pointed out, should include an upgrade in national orientation and value system for the country to achieve greatness as a Nation.
He said, “Things are hard, no doubt, but with full commitment to the course of building a united Nigeria, we will be great again. Governments at all levels should redirect their energies to the provision of adequate security, basic social amenities, creating jobs for the Youths and enabling environment for business to thrive.
More particularly, Government at all levels should from time to time listen to the cry and yearnings of the people.”
