Reverend Akorede Okuyelu, a newly installed Diocesan Bishop for Osun North East has promised youths in his diocese in higher institutions free education.
He made this promise during his enrolment service held on Tuesday at the Cathedral Church of St Philip in OtanAyegbaju.
Okuyelu was ordained a Deacon in 1996, became a Priest in 1997, preferred Cannon in 2005 an Archdeacon in 2009 and the Dean, Cathedral of St. Matthew, Ijebu -Ijesa in 2018.
He was enthroned the second diocesan of the region after Bishop Olumokaye.
In his visions and missions for the diocese, the newly installed bishop said, “We hope to preach the good news with transforming power in season and out of season.
“We will also engage in pragmatic evangelism and missions, discipline making, social and care for the flocks through up-reach and out -reach ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit.
“We hope to train and equip members on soul winning. To develop every member to be God fearing, reliance and encourage the spirit of Christian’s generosity. Free scholarships would be given to the youths in higher institutions”.
In his sermon, Okuyelu copiously quoting from the scriptures disclosed that truly help comes from above.
He added that with the help of God, he hope to surpass the feat of his predecessor.
