The State of Osun Parliamentary Association of Nigeria (PASAN) workers has embarked on indefinite strike to press way for the financial autonomy of the State House of Assembly.
The State Chairman Osun PASAN Alhaji Adesina Adekunle announced the strike today while addressing the press at the house of Assembly Complex Osogbo.
He said that State chapter of PASAN needs to comply with national body directive to pave way for state government to implement the Executive Order 10 singed by President Muhammad Buhari last year.
The National Chairman of PASAN Comrade Usman Muhammad, has on early hour of today directed all parliamentary staff in Nigeria to embarked on strike indefinitely.
According to him “Osun Assembly workers need to comply with national body directive to pave way for house of assembly autonomy”.
“We in Osun House of Assembly are in full compliance to join other States of the federation on this strike action” he added.
He noted that all staff are in total support of national body directive on indefinite strike.
He urged the State governor to respect the President’s Executive Order 10 directive for the love of democracy in Nigeria.
The Osun PASAN members who mounted the entrance this morning with placards inscription, “Autonomy No going back, Financial Separation means Separation of Power, and Service for Democracy amongst other”.
It would be recalled that Executive Order 10 was assented to by President Buhari last to allowed State House of Assemblies to be financial independent.
