A pastor with Salvation Ministry, Osogbo, capital of the State of Osun, Mr. Thankgod Israel, was on Wednesday, arraigned before a Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, for allegedly tampering with electric fittings of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).
Israel, according to a charge sheet obtained by OSUN DEFENDER, committed the offence on February 12, 2023 at plot 4, Olu Alabi Way, GRA, Osogbo.
The alleged offence contravened Section 1(10) of the Miscellaneous Offence Act, Cap M17, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the one count charge of unlawful tampering of the IBEDC metre.
Defence counsel, B. Odutola, applied for the bail of the accused person.
Prosecution counsel, Tolulope Ajayi, did not oppose the bail application.
Justice Emmanuel Ayoola of the court admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N2million with one surety.
The surety, according to Ayoola, must be a clergy man or woman with a recognised religious organisation.
The case was adjourned till April 26, 2023, for trial.
