Osun PDP Governorship Candidate Not Party Member – Diran Odeyemi
A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Diran Odeyemi, has alleged that the party’s governorship candidate ahead of the 2026 Osun Guber poll, Hon. Adedamola Adebayo, popularly known as Fryo, is not a registered member of the Osun State chapter of the PDP.
According to Odeyemi, Adebayo is unknown to the PDP in Osun, saying he has not been participating in party activities in the state. He claimed that the Guber candidate is an ally of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and they are living in the same residence in Ibadan.
He stated this while featuring on a Yoruba programme on Awa’arawa TV
“The PDP candidate in Osun State is unknown to the party in the state. He has not been participating in party activities with us. He lives at Governor Seyi Makinde’s residence in Ibadan. They brought Ibadan people to disguise as delegates to vote for him as the PDP Candidate in Osun.”
Adebayo emerged PDP candidate after polling 919 votes out of 957 cast in the primary.
Announcing Adebayo’s victory after the voting, chairman of the primary, Humphrey Abba, stated: “Void votes 20. We told you earlier that one of the aspirants withdrew.
“The candidate that got the remaining votes is Adebayo Adedamola with 919 votes and stands elected and returned.”
