The Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State of Osun has been reportedly sold to Adeleke University, Ede.
According to sources, the Secretariat, which is located directly opposite Biket junction, Jaye area, Osogbo, was sold at a sum of N80m around August this year.
The leadership of the party, led by the embattled Chairman, Hon. Soji Adagunodo, is currently searching for a new place to hire for use as secretariat.
Adagunodo confirmed the selling of the secretariat when he hinted newsmen on Monday that the state office of the PDP had been sold.
He was unable to get into his office, as the building was locked when he went to resume in office last Friday.
Tongues, however, have been wagging on the sale of the PDP secretariat to Adeleke University.
Some of the PDP members who spoke with OSUN DEFENDER yesterday accused the Adeleke dynasty group of the party of an attempt to pocket the party.
One of the party members, Seyi Abolade, who is believed to be of Adagunodo group of the PDP, said: “It will not be out of place to think that the Adeleke dynasty through Adeleke University deliberately showed interest in buying our party secretariat and offered intimidating amount of money to buy it.
“We know the owner of Adeleke University; we know his interference in our party. Some of us are of the view that he bought the secretariat to pocket the PDP in Osun, thinking that the party might not be able to afford the money to rent or buy a building at a good location for secretariat again.
“They want the PDP to be theirs alone. They want us to come and beg for money for a new secretariat. That is how we see it.”
