Osun Police Arrest Four For Motorcycle Theft
The Osun State Police Command has arrested four men over alleged motorcycle theft.
A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, on behalf of the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan, said the arrest was made possible with collaboration from local security outfits.
The suspects, according to the statement, identified as Adeyemo Tunde, Adepinye Clement, Adewale Tosin and Useni Kabiru, were taken into custody after police operatives intercepted them around the Oduduwa University roundabout in Ipetumodu, Ife North local government council area of the state.
The police said: “The arrest occurred on January 22, 2026, after the suspects were stopped during a routine security operation and subsequently taken to the Ipetumodu Police Division for questioning.
“During interrogation, the police recovered two unregistered Lady motorcycles from the suspects, which were later confirmed to have been stolen from Iwara, a community in Osun State.”
Further investigations, according to the police, led to the arrest of Kabiru, who was accused of receiving the stolen motorcycles.
“The suspects confessed to the crime, and discreet investigation helped us apprehend the receiver,” the police disclosed.
While stressing that such collaboration with local security groups remained crucial, CP Gotan said, “the command appreciates the continued support of local security outfits in tackling crime.”
DSP Ojelabi added that all the suspects had been charged to court.
He also assured residents that the command would sustain efforts to curb motorcycle theft and related offences across the state.
