Osun Police Nabs Wanted Cultist After 20 Months On The Run
A notorious cultist, Bode Olayode, popularly known as Bode Itaapa, has been apprehended by the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Police after 20 months of being declared wanted.
Bode was said to be terrorizing Ilesa axis and the entire state before he was declared wanted on July 2, 2022, by the police.
In a circular released in 2022, said he committed offences ranging from conspiracy, murder and cultism and warned the public against habouring him, as such a person would be treated as a criminal.
According to the circular, “The public is hereby notified that; One BODE OLAKAYODE, popularly known as Bode Itaapa’, a Nigerian National from llesa in Osun State whose photograph appears below is wanted by the Nigeria Police, Osun State Command in connection with offences of Conspiracy Murder and Cultism.
“Bode Olakayode is about 34 years old, dark in complexion, white teeth, 1.70m tall, pointed nose, oblong head, black hair and Yoruba by tribe. Suspect has been causing menace in llesa and entire Osun State. Anybody that harbour the suspect, will be treated in connection with offences of Conspiracy Murder and Cultism,” the circulated noted.
When contacted, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the arrest, however, said further investigations was being carried out on the suspect.
