Osun Poly Bows To Pressure, Suspends N10K Endowment Fund Demand From Graduating Students
Following the outrage that trailed the demand for graduating students of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, to pay the sum of N10,000 endowment fund before the collection of their results, the school management has temporarily suspended the action.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that the Registrar of the institution, Abiodun Oloyede, had in a memo, said graduating National Diploma and Higher National Diploma students would be paying the sum of N10,000 as endowment fund.
The memo dated October 16, a copy obtained by OSUN DEFENDER on Monday, said the decision was agreed by the Governing Council at its meeting on Wednesday, 25th June, and Thursday, 26th June, 2025.
According to Oloyede, the fund will be used for the development of the institution especially in the area of the provision of amenities and infrastructures.
He added that the payment is to be effected before all the concerned students collect their final notification of results.
But in another memo dated October 20 and addressed to the graduating students, the management said it has temporarily suspended actions on the earlier directives.
The new memo, which was also signed by the school registrar, reads, “Please refer to a memo dated 16 October 2025 with Reference Number: REG 20/VOLIV/204 on the above subject matter.
“This is to inform all graduating NDII & HNDII students that actions on the provisions of the memo under reference are hereby temporarily suspended. All concerned Students are to note this directive and act accordingly.”
