Osun PTA Calls For Recruitment Of Teachers

THE Parents Teachers Association, Osun State chapter, has called on the state government to recruit more teachers into all public schools across the state.

This is just as they pledged their unwavering support for the present administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke.

Chairman of the PTA in the state, Comrade Moshood Fadare, made the call during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Education, Hon. Dipo Eluwole, on Tuesday.

Fadare who described the PTA members as critical stakeholders in the education sector, appealed to Adeleke to recruit more teachers to compliment his effort in promoting functional education.

He stressed that the PTA is ready to partner with the government on programmes that will add value to public education and enhance learning for the school children, stating that government alone cannot handle education matters.

“We appealed to Governor Ademola Adeleke government to recruit more teachers into our public schools across the state. 

“We also need a science resource center programme to be resuscitated in order to improve on the technological knowledge of pupils and students”, he stated further.

In his address, the Commissioner for Education, Eluwole, appreciated the PTA executives and members for their support, stressing that the Adeleke-led government is ready to give all what it takes to develop public education.

Eluwole assured the PTA that the forthcoming education summit will see to their demands and reformation of the education sector. 

In his own remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on School Monitoring, Hon. Akin Ajetumobi, assured the PTA members that the Adeleke administration will partner with them on education reform, while urging parents to instill good moral values on their children as teachers cannot do the job alone.
