The flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, has denied any friction between him and Governor Rauf Aregbesola, over last Saturday’s election, describing such insinuation as irrational and imagination of his detractors.
Oyetola said the motive behind such rumour was to create a kind of confusion ahead of Thursday rerun election, adding that Aregbesola remains a model of his governorship ambition.
He described him as a dogged driver who has provided exemplary leadership.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director -General of his campaign organisation in Osun-East senatorial district, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa, the copy which was made available to newsmen on Monday.
The PDP flag bearer, therefore, called on his supporters and people in the state to ignore such rumour, which in his words is satanic in nature.
He, however, commended the people of the state for their massive turn out during the Saturday’s election, and high level of political maturity displayed by conducting themselves in a peaceful manner during last Saturday’s election.
Oyetola counselled his supporters to maintain peace in the face of any provocation and resist any move towards truncating the relative peace in the state.
“The Oyetola Campaign Organization commend the steadfastness of the people in the state. We are proud that the people are resisting the provocation and temptation to sell their conscience.
“We appeal to the people to be vigilant and ready to jealously guard their votes on Thursday as the PDP have commenced massive commoditization of peoples mandate through massive purchase of voter cards,” the statement read.
